founder, lead designer
Always drawn to design with a knack for the creative, Nicki’s first career chapter was in teaching. For five years she owned and directed a preschool and child care center before turning the page to teach first and third grade.
After moving to Charleston, she reinvented herself and founded Embellish Interiors in 2011. Focusing on the lowcountry community, the young firm established itself among the Daniel Island community garnering a reputation for thorough, thoughtful approaches and delivering timeless designs with a twist.
Fast forward a few years, the good word had spread well beyond Charleston, and Embellish Interiors expanded to serve clients across the East Coast from down in Florida on up to Massachusetts.
Celebrating its diamond year, Embellish Interiors honed in an aptitude for effortless luxury in full-service interior design for primary and secondary homes. The bespoke firm also partnered with Maverick Construction as the design arm for custom home curation and renovations reinvented.
Today, Nicki leads Embellish Interiors as the firm continues to enhance cohesive living by design and celebrate spaces up and down the coast, while ensuring clients enjoy the process and nurture a relationship built on mutual trust and respect.
Known for designs that are as inviting as they are inspiring, Nicki is as much of a doer as she is a designer gravitating towards projects that let her wrap her arms around them from start to finish. For each and every client, her goal is to curate remarkable dwellings that are as comfortable and livable as they are beautiful. Essentially, crafting spaces that look like they’re somehow always ready for a soiree.
When she isn’t neck-deep in design, you may find Nicki walking her three furbabies, visiting her two sons in college or carefully working on her dream home with her husband in Bluffton.
Coming into Maverick Construction and Embellish Interiors fold as both an interior designer and project manager, Chelsea has become a fan favorite among clients and builders alike with her unique ability to be the bridge between design vision and technical execution.
For her, there are few problems that proficient communication, being present on-site and a good rendering can’t solve.
A quintessential Virgo, Chelsea’s approach to design is measured and methodical with the ultimate goal of creating harmony and balance across cohesive spaces that will comfortably scale. No flights of fancy or Narnia holes here…
When Chelsea isn’t immersed in renderings or armed with a tape measure, you may find her putting in sweat equity at pilates, nose deep in a book, chasing down her two fur-children or wandering a farmer’s market with her fly-fishing husband.
PROJECT MANAGER, designer
Hailing from Savannah, GA, Chelsea’s South Carolina tour began in the Upstate before coming down to Charleston to pursue higher education at the College of Charleston.
After pursuing a Studio Art degree, Chelsea chose mosaics and marble as mediums beginning her interiors career as a Design Assistant for a downtown tile shop. Coupling an artist’s eye and hands-on approach with true tenacity and a tireless work ethic, Chelsea rose the ranks to Lead Designer in three short years.
Innately curious and driven to learn by doing, she curated a dynamic skillset and distinct perspective across projects that respects both form and function.
